Victor Obisakin

Legislative & Community Relations Director | Suicide Prevention Coordinator, Restoration for All, Inc.

Victor Obisakin, a Nigerian born in Bern, Switzerland, grew up as the son of a Nigerian diplomat and experienced a diverse international upbringing—attending elementary school in Brazil, middle school in Nigeria, and high school in Israel. He later moved to the United States, where he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Hotel, Restaurant, and Institutional Management from the University of Minnesota.

After nearly two decades in Northwest Minnesota working as a Restaurant Manager, firefighter, and executive chef, Victor relocated to the Twin Cities Metropolitan area to raise his children with his wife, Katya.

Passionate about mental health and social justice, Victor believes in the power of cultural collaboration to create inclusive environments. He holds a Master’s degree in Public Administration, supporting BIPOC communities in accessing mental health resources. He also completed the Community Equity Program at the Amherst Wilder Foundation and the Boards & Commissions Leadership Institute at Nexus Community Partners, sharpening his skills in advocacy and community change.

Victor is deeply engaged in community life—volunteering at the Minneapolis–St. Paul Airport and coaching soccer for Salvo in West St. Paul, Minnesota. His public service was further recognized when Governor Tim Walz and Lieutenant Governor Peggy Flanagan appointed him to the Metropolitan Council.

He currently serves as Legislative and Community Relations Director and Suicide Prevention Coordinator at Restoration For All, Inc., where he champions policy advocacy, community health, and suicide prevention initiatives for diverse communities.
